Whale watching season and tours in Puerto Vallarta
Every year Puerto Vallarta received the visit of Humpback Whales who are in the search of warmer waters to mate and to give birth.
The first sightings are in the month of November in the South Coast of Puerto Vallarta, days are not specific although usually we get to see the first whales around mid November. By December chances of seeing whales from your own balcony at Costa Sur are very high! They absolutely love the south shore, what's not to love right? It is the perfect environment for breeding and rearing their young to the warmer waters of Banderas Bay.
There are many tour companies in Puerto Vallarta offering whale watching tours. Costa Sur Resort has its own tour on a private boat on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This is for small groups on 10 people departing from the hotel's beach. If you are visiting us with a group of 10 you may arrange with our activities team a tour just for your group on a different day. Please note this has to be previously arranged with our activities team. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and it includes snorkeling time at Los Arcos.
If you prefer to go with a larger tour company, we recommend Vallarta Adventures. You may get information and book tours with our concierge located in the Lobby level of the hotel.
